Book that have helped me.

So this book I discovered this a little later in life and I discovered that boundaries are really important and we don't in disability circles talk about them given that people need to be very aware of boundaries. We see what is marketed as person-centered supervision. We see that this is something that does need to change and that people need to be aware of it and aware that people with disabilities have the right to change things about care or support that they don't like.

I do understand that there could be some very valid reasons for this but when it comes down to it we need to be aware and treated like we matter and not treated like we are a number I have been treated like that several times and it hurts every time that you lose a support worker who is supposed to have your interests at heart. But you start to realize that you are just a job to them. I will admit that it's a job but it's a job working with people and this is where you need to be very aware that you working with people and that it's your job to make them happy and to support them and to not set them up for disappointment. It is a very Christian-centric book but at the same time, it has a lot of truth in it about how to able to say no and to have your life back on track. We also are seeing that people are able to understand it a lot better now we have had health pandemics hit us and hit us hard and that we are only seeing the impact now.
