Life update after covid

Hi all so I haven’t really done a really personal blog post in a while as I thought that they where self-serving, but when I checked my readership I see that they are the ones that get the most engagement, and they are able to then be used as a launching off point for change and one issue that I seem to be struggling with is self-worth.

Not in the sense that I am valuable but in the sense of what am I meant to do with my time and I am honestly looking for a part-time job again. But I have to balance this out with not getting sick again and I see that I have massive family and friend support as well, so this to me is everything I see that if you’re in the “NDIS” system this is something that you really do need to have as a person to advocate for you. To be making sure that you’re not getting screwed over by providers that either are willingly rorting the system or through ignorance of what they can charge for as this then limits what they can do and how they can do it.

I am also aware that I am still very much recovering from both covid and bronchitis and we see that this is a massive issue I am a little concerned about my internet bill as all I could do for a week was to watch YouTube and I didn’t realize how my internet is metered and not unlimited. ( I will be fixing that asap when my plan runs out).

I am also seeing that community connection is really important in my life but at the same time I am seeing for the disability community, there are actually a lot of hidden gems. I discovered my community access organization has a great “common room” that is well stocked with a ping pong table, a pool table, and other assorted items such as board games and it is free to go and just hang out there as well. Its great as it’s not loud or structured. They still offer structured activities but I haven’t really had the time to check them out since getting sick.

I have also been settling into my routine now as I am finding I need to rest a lot more after having covid as I will admit I I didn't rest as I needed two due to the fact I I did for the first three days feel well. However, this has really knocked my life around in several ways financially emotionally, and physically the financial is due to something that we can all avoid food wastage however I need to have some self-compassion due to the fact that I was ill and could not swallow.

However, I am surrounded by a fantastic family and paid support who are working towards me getting my life back on track. By helping me look for a part-time job to alleviate some of the stress of living on the pension and to help me to get some solid routines into my life, others are helping me to clean my living spaces and to meal plan as well as getting me to the library to have some books to read to get me off the internet.

However one is really a gem in helping me to run the blog and the YouTube as well as helping me to maintain good healthy relationships with family and friends and that means sometimes taking me out to them, helping them with chores and this isn’t in her scope of work but she is able and willing to help me as I am helping out my parents to do it, she is also able to be a bit of a mentor as well.

I am now hoping to be able to widen the blog and YouTube but I am hoping to get well first and to be able to understand what is happening in my life that is out of my control and what is within my control as well such as using a meal delivery service instead off letting groceries go off in the fridge, letting people help me in the house and meal prepping, and there is the possibility of me selling my craft but that is into the future as well.
